GrummanPower Terms of Service
Dated October 15, 2026 · Revision 1 · Version 2026-10-15.1
1. Our service
GrummanPower (the service provider, “we,” “us”) provides document preparation, research, administrative coordination, and facilitation of independent regulatory or technical review for eligible Grumman AA-5 and AA-5A projects (the “Service”). We organize information you supply and prepare supporting documentation or a field-approval support package for the proposed alteration described in your order. Research and document preparation support independent review; they are not engineering services, installation instructions issued under our own regulatory authority, or airworthiness determinations.
We arrange independent review and pay the review fee from the bundled service price you pay us. That price also compensates us for preparation, research, coordination, and development of the Service. It is not a pass-through quote of the reviewer’s fee; our internal costs and margin are not itemized. Payment purchases the Service, not an FAA or other regulatory decision, an STC, or a guarantee of acceptance or approval.
2. FAA requirements and independent approval
GrummanPower does not approve an alteration. The applicable independent reviewer makes the approval determination within that person’s own authority. Our Service does not waive, bypass, or replace any FAA requirement. The appropriate approval basis must be established for your specific aircraft, engine, configuration, and proposed alteration. A field approval may be used only where permitted; it cannot substitute for an STC when an STC is required. If an alteration is based on an STC, the owner or operator must hold that STC or obtain the holder’s written permission as required by law. Unless expressly identified in your order, our fee does not include STC rights or permission.
Independent reviewers, including engineers, mechanics, holders of Inspection Authorization (IAs), FAA representatives, and other authorized persons, exercise their own professional, regulatory, or delegated judgment. GrummanPower does not control the substance of their determinations. A reviewer is not GrummanPower’s agent for exercising FAA-delegated authority. Nothing in the commercial relationship requires a reviewer to approve an alteration or accept particular data. Payment to GrummanPower does not condition reviewer compensation on a favorable determination. We remain responsible for the agreed review fee even if approval is denied and you owe us nothing.
Professional relationships facilitate communication and coordination; they do not confer preferential regulatory treatment, expand anyone’s authority, or assure a favorable decision. GrummanPower is a private service provider, not the FAA. Use of FAA forms does not imply FAA endorsement of the Service.
Approval is not guaranteed. Prior approval of a similar alteration on another aircraft does not guarantee approval on your aircraft. FAA offices, designees, inspectors, engineers, mechanics, and IAs may reach different conclusions about the applicability or sufficiency of particular data. We do not guarantee that any particular FAA office, designee, or other authorized person will approve or accept a proposed alteration. Additional engineering, testing, documentation, inspections, or modifications may be required. We do not promise a particular review time or that further technical data will be unnecessary.
3. Your information and verification responsibilities
You confirm that you are authorized to request the Service for the aircraft and to provide the contact information submitted. You must verify aircraft identity, engine configuration, serial numbers, maintenance history, mechanic or organization credentials, and all other supplied or prefilled information. Registry lookup results do not establish eligibility, ownership authority, or airworthiness. Tell us promptly about errors, omissions, obsolete information, or changes, and provide requested supporting records.
We may reasonably rely on information supplied by you, the aircraft owner, mechanic, IA, or another project participant unless there is an obvious reason to believe it is incorrect. You are responsible for inaccuracies, omissions, and obsolete information you supply or have supplied on your behalf. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GrummanPower is not responsible for a document error resulting directly from incorrect customer-supplied information that we reasonably reproduced without independent knowledge that it was incorrect. This allocation does not excuse us from addressing obvious inconsistencies or errors we actually know about, or from using reasonable care in performing the Service.
Automated, prefilled, templated, and generated documents must be independently checked before use. You must ensure that the responsible certificated or authorized person checks the information relevant to that person’s responsibilities, including:
- N-number, aircraft model, and aircraft serial number;
- engine model and serial number;
- piston and other component part numbers;
- STC, type-certificate, service-document, and regulatory references;
- configuration assumptions;
- weight-and-balance information, if applicable;
- operating limitations; and
- representations appearing on FAA forms.
Drafts and prefilled forms are for review. They are not evidence that work has been performed, inspected, or approved. Do not sign, file, or rely on a statement that has not been verified by the responsible person. Supporting documents remain drafts until reviewed and signed by the responsible certificated or authorized person. No person should sign or submit a document containing a statement that he or she has not personally verified to the extent required by that person’s responsibilities and authority. We may pause or decline a project if information is incomplete, inconsistent, or outside the Service’s scope.
4. Regulatory responsibility, installation, and return to service
The aircraft owner/operator and appropriately certificated or authorized maintenance personnel remain responsible for applicability, regulatory compliance, installation, conformity, inspection, operating limitations, maintenance records, maintenance, airworthiness, and approval for return to service within their respective responsibilities and authority. This includes determining the applicability and sufficiency of approved data, instructions for continued airworthiness, and any required permissions. Any independent approval is limited to the scope and conditions stated in the approval documentation executed by the applicable authorized reviewer.
The Service does not perform, supervise, inspect, or control installation or physical alteration. It does not provide conformity certification, airworthiness determinations, or approval for return to service. GrummanPower does not control subsequent maintenance or operation of the aircraft.
GrummanPower does not exercise the privileges of an FAA mechanic certificate, Inspection Authorization, Designated Engineering Representative, Designated Airworthiness Representative, Organization Designation Authorization, or other FAA delegation through the provision of the Service. Any person exercising such privileges does so independently and within the scope of that person’s own certificate, authorization, or delegation. This describes the Service’s role; it does not state whether any individual associated with GrummanPower personally holds such credentials.
Payment, an order status, a prepared Form 337, or receipt of documents is not by itself authorization to alter or operate an aircraft.
5. Price, card authorization, and delivery
At checkout, you authorize a temporary hold for the displayed order total. We collect that amount only after the applicable independent reviewer has completed and signed the approval documentation within the scope of that reviewer’s authority. This payment condition does not make GrummanPower the approval authority or mean that every installation or operational requirement has been satisfied.
Authorization does not guarantee approval or indefinitely guarantee funds. Your bank may display the hold as a pending transaction and reduce your available credit or balance. Holds expire according to card-network and bank rules. If a hold expires before capture, we will ask you to authorize a new hold; we do not automatically renew it or collect payment before the independent review condition above is met.
If approval is denied, we cancel the authorization and collect no service fee. Your bank determines when a released hold disappears. If payment was already collected, the full-refund policy below applies.
The currency and total displayed before payment are the charges for your order. Unless expressly included, the Service excludes parts, installation, inspections, testing, engineering substantiation, STC licenses, and third-party fees other than the independent review fee included in our bundled service price. Additional work or charges require your separate agreement before being incurred. We will communicate additional requirements and delivery arrangements. Review and delivery estimates depend on complete information and reviewer availability and are not guarantees. We will tell you about material delays.
6. Cancellation, refunds, and corrections
Approval is not guaranteed. If the independent reviewer or FAA denies approval of the proposed alteration addressed by the supporting documentation submitted through this Service, you owe nothing for this order. We will refund any payment already collected in full and absorb the costs incurred, including the independent review fee. No preparation, review, cancellation, or payment-processing costs will be deducted from that refund. GrummanPower bears this commercial risk; the reviewer’s agreed compensation is not contingent on approval.
You may cancel for a full refund before we deliver the final documents for your order. If we determine that we cannot provide the ordered Service, including when the required approval route is unavailable, we will cancel the order and refund the service fee. We will not substitute a materially different service without your agreement. Refunds are returned to the original payment method; your payment provider determines when they appear.
After delivery, contact us promptly about errors or missing services. We will correct errors in our document preparation without an additional service fee. The denial policy above applies even if documents have already been delivered. Nothing here limits refunds or other remedies required by law. To request cancellation, a correction, or a refund, reply to an order email with your order reference or contact the service provider through the contact details supplied with your order.
7. Order information and communications
You authorize us to use your order information and share relevant information with your designated contacts, reviewers, payment processor, and service providers as needed to fulfill the order and meet legal obligations. Do not submit payment card details in order fields or email. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We may send order, review, delivery, and correction communications electronically. This authorization does not enroll you in marketing communications.
8. Responsibility and legal rights
We remain responsible for performing the agreed document preparation, research, and coordination services with reasonable care. We do not warrant regulatory outcomes, aircraft performance, or airworthiness. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ordinary-negligence claims are subject to the aviation-risk allocation and limited release in §9 and the limitations of liability in §10.
The allocations, release, and limitations in §§3 and 8–11 do not exclude or limit liability for GrummanPower’s gross negligence, reckless conduct, fraud, willful or intentional misconduct, or any liability that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive or limit. They do not waive mandatory consumer rights, reduce the refunds and corrections promised in §6, or excuse any person from applicable aviation requirements. They allocate legally transferable risks; they do not make GrummanPower immune from liability.
9. Aviation-risk acknowledgment and limited release
Aircraft maintenance, alteration, engine modification, and operation involve risks of property damage, serious personal injury, and death. GrummanPower does not perform, supervise, inspect, or control the physical alteration, and does not control subsequent maintenance or operation.
Our supporting documentation is only one input into decisions made by aircraft owners, mechanics, IAs, FAA representatives, designees, engineers, and other authorized persons. You must rely on the appropriate certificated or authorized person for determinations within that person’s regulatory authority, rather than treating our document-preparation Service as such a determination.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you assume the risks arising from the physical alteration, maintenance, and operation of the aircraft that are outside GrummanPower’s actual performance of the Service. For those risks only, you release GrummanPower from your claims based on ordinary negligence, including claims for property damage, personal injury, or death, to the extent such a release is legally enforceable. This limited release does not cover our actual performance of document preparation, research, or coordination, and does not transfer responsibility for an independent reviewer’s own regulatory duties to you. Claims concerning our actual performance of the Service remain subject to §10 where enforceable.
This acknowledgment and release do not apply to the misconduct or nonwaivable liabilities described in §8. You do not assume the risk of intentional misconduct or any liability that cannot lawfully be waived. You make this agreement for yourself; it does not purport to waive independent rights belonging to passengers, other owners, or other people who have not agreed to these terms.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GrummanPower’s aggregate liability to you arising from or relating to an order, the Service, a document package, or these terms is limited to the amount you paid GrummanPower for the applicable Service. The limit is a single aggregate amount for that Service, not a separate amount for each claim or legal theory.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GrummanPower is not liable to you for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages. This exclusion includes consequential economic losses such as loss of use of an aircraft, loss of revenue, loss of profits, diminution in aircraft value, substitute transportation, hangar costs, maintenance delays, and similar losses, to the extent those losses may legally be excluded.
These limitations apply regardless of whether a claim is characterized as contract, tort, ordinary negligence, negligent misrepresentation, or another legal theory, but only to the extent legally enforceable. They are subject to the exceptions in §8, including gross negligence and intentional misconduct, and do not reduce the refunds or corrections promised in §6. They do not cap or waive independent claims of nonparties or liabilities that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive or limit. If a particular exclusion or limit is unenforceable, it applies only to the extent permitted by law; other lawful provisions remain in effect.
11. Narrow indemnification for customer-caused third-party claims
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you will indemnify GrummanPower, meaning reimburse its reasonable damages, customer-approved settlements, and reasonable legal costs, but only to the extent a third-party claim results from:
- materially inaccurate information you supply or have supplied on your behalf;
- your alteration of GrummanPower documents after delivery;
- your use of documents for an aircraft or configuration different from the one for which they were prepared;
- your installation or operation contrary to limitations contained in the documentation; or
- your unauthorized representation that GrummanPower, an FAA representative, a reviewer, or another person approved something that person did not approve.
This obligation is limited to the portion of a claim caused by those acts. It does not require you to reimburse losses caused by GrummanPower’s own negligence or other misconduct, including claims caused solely by GrummanPower, and does not cover liability that cannot lawfully be shifted. It does not create a blanket duty to defend every claim involving the aircraft or the Service.
We will notify you promptly of a claim and allow you a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense. You are not responsible for increased costs caused by our unreasonable delay in notice. A settlement for which we seek reimbursement requires your written consent, which may not be unreasonably withheld. No settlement may admit fault by you or impose a nonmonetary obligation on you without your express written agreement.
12. Governing law and forum
Arizona law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where federal aviation law or other controlling federal law applies. This choice does not override federal aviation statutes or regulations or mandatory protections that applicable law does not allow the parties to displace.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, disputes arising from or relating to an order, the Service, or these terms must be brought in an Arizona state court with jurisdiction or the United States District Court for the District of Arizona if it has subject-matter jurisdiction. You and GrummanPower consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts for such disputes to the extent legally enforceable. If mandatory law requires another forum or makes this forum provision unenforceable for a particular claim, that law controls. This agreement does not create federal jurisdiction or require arbitration or waiver of a jury trial.
13. Agreement and changes
By selecting the unchecked agreement checkbox and continuing to card authorization, you accept this version of the Terms of Service for your order and confirm your authority to place it. The acceptance record identifies the order, the terms version and date, and the server-recorded time of acceptance. Save or print a copy for your records. Later website changes do not amend an existing order without your agreement.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions apply to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in this section expands a release, damages limitation, indemnity, or forum requirement beyond what applicable law allows.
